We educate our patients about CNV using the following animation powered by Eyemaginations.com In the wet form of age-related macular degeneration (or in other conditions with CNV), abnormal vessels begin to develop underneath the retina. These abnormal blood vessels are unusually delicate and may bleed or leak fluid. This fluid builds up

Exemplary Case Using the PHP Continued FA reveals leakage inferior to fovea. Laser could be applied to destroy the choroidal neovascularization membrane. Anti-VEGF agents could also be used.

History/Chief Complaints Asymptomatic 70 year old white female Clinical Findings Amsler grid: Normal PHP: Hyperacuity disturbance pattern was demonstrated OD only. Since the disturbance pattern was in the superior visual field, the corresponding fundus lesion should be inferior to the fovea. 3 mirror lens exam: Reveals small hemorrhages and subretinal fluid in fovea. FA:

The FA reveals leakage below the fovea OS. Note that the dye brightens and expands over a five minute period OS. The OD does not demonstrate any leakage.

The PHP is normal OD (not shown) but demonstrates two hyperacuity defect zones joined together in the superior visual field with a high cluster consistency in OS. The PHP tests the central 14x14 degrees of the visual field.
