Case 3: Optomap® Color Fundus Image OD

Case 3: A 41 yo HF presented for consultation for possible RP. The patient reported difficulty seeing at night since she was 16 years old and and peripheral visual field loss at 27 years old. Her great-great-grandmother had visual problems consistent with RP but no confirmed diagnosis was ever made. VAs were severely reduced to 20/400 in both eyes. Retinal examination revealed pigmentary clumping in the posterior pole and mid-periphery, more so nasally in both eyes. SD OCT revealed loss of subfoveal photoreceptors, corresponding to the poor VA. ERGs were performed and no scotopic, photopic, or mixed response was elicited in either eye.
