20 year old female presented with uni-ocular AV malformation in the inferior retina OS. In addition to the retinal AV malformation, the patient had multiple AVMs near the hypothalamus, and thus far has undergone two major neurosurgical procedures to close some of the abnormal vessels. Blood “pools” in large AVMs and “steals” blood from other parts of the brain, thus requiring surgical intervention. AVMs in both the retina and brain comprise the Wyburn Mason Syndrome.
