About the Authors:

Jasmine H Francis, MD, FACS

Dr. Francis is a board-certified ophthalmologist with specialty training in ophthalmic oncology and is an Associate Attending at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She sees patients with intraocular cancers such as uveal melanoma, lymphoma and retinoblastoma. She also participates in an interdisciplinary effort at Memorial Sloan Kettering to treat and study patients with histiocytic disorders such as Erdheim-Chester disease and Langerhans cell histiocytosis. Her goal is to provide the best treatment for each patient with the fewest side effects.

She is a clinician-scientist (academic oncologist), and has published numerous peer-reviewed papers and book chapters. Her principle areas of research include intraocular tumors, including retinoblastoma and uveal melanoma. In addition, she continues to conduct research on the ocular side effects of cancer treatment. She was granted an Achievement Award by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and was recognized as one of the Top 40 Under 40 in Ophthalmology (published by The Ophthalmologist) and in Cancer (by McGivney Global Advisor, the Lynk group). She has received research funding from the Macula Society.
