Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)
- Can use multiple functions of the OCT to evaluate for SDDs
- BScans – ensuring these are examined in the entirety of the macula, not just the foveal avascular zone
- En face imaging – coronal cuts at various retina depths, pay attention to outer retina and RPE slabs for SDDs
- Many OCTs also have SLO imaging that creates an FAF image and/or NIR
