Pathophysiology:
- Develop from unregulated proliferation of uveal melanocytes
- Five genes most commonly implicated: GNAQ, GNA11, BAP1, SF3B1, EIF1AX
- Ciliary body melanomas usually remain hidden behind the iris diaphragm and are undetected for a longer period of time than melanoma in the iris or choroid
