Carotinoid Testing in Clinical Practice Case Example:
The Student with a Dozen Donuts

Case and image provided courtesy of Dr. Jerome Sherman (New York, NY)

A 3rd year optometry student in lab  had the lowest  score in her class.

Observing her lunch she admitted to eating donuts but never a dozen!

Understanding her low Carotinoid  score and how that relates to her current and long-term health motivated her to improve her diet.

She actively changed her diet and over the following months her score steadily improved into a healthier range.

Understanding how a diet is specifically affecting an individual can make positive change happen.
