How does skin carotenoid measurement
compare to macula pigment? 2

A significant, positive correlation is demonstrated between skin carotenoid levels and macular pigment volume.  This means that you can infer the level of macular pigment based on skin measurement.

There is more range here vs. serum because it takes longer to build carotenoid levels in the macula versus the skin.   (Skin demonstrates faster results, eyes takes up to 6 months)
