New area of subretinal fluid above the evolving drusenoid PED
While subretinal fluid and vitelliform material can be found at the apex of non-neovascular PEDs, they can also be associated with future subretinal fibrosis.
When subretinal fibrosis does occur in these cases it is likely due to the development of sub-RPE neovascularization.
