Cirrus RNFL OCT

Cirrus OCT RNFL of this patient. Due to the long axial length of this patient, the left eye was not able to be imaged. When looking at the tomograms on the bottom left of the image, you can see the poor segmentation of the OCT making this scan inaccurate and unreliable.

The OCT is a very useful tool that takes structural measurements of the thickness of the RNFL around the ONH and can detect change over time. Although the OCT is a very important tool in glaucoma, for this patient and many others with myopic changes, the OCT RNFL is not valuable in your diagnosis of glaucoma.
