The hyporeflective space is also demonstrated in the vertical OCT sections of the an left eye. The PIL is absent throughout the hyporeflective space, but the external limiting membrane and RPE remain intact. The external limiting membrane also appears to “collapse” towards the RPE throughout the width of the hyporeflective zone with the absence of the PIL.
