In some cases, the hyporeflective zone includes an absence of the “inner reflection” of the RPE, but the RPE/Bruch’s membrane complex (RPE/BM)1 remains intact. The “inner reflection” has been referred to by some authors as the outer segment-RPE interdigitation (OS/RPE)1 or Verhoeff’s membrane2 (see page 10).
