Introducing the MDD-2

  • The MDD-2 Macular Adaptometer is a diagnostic instrument used for detection (and monitoring) of Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Diabetic Retinopathy and other retinal disorders. It delivers a non-invasive photo stress test (or bleach) to the retina of the eye and measures recovery time.
  • By measuring the function of the macula with a photostress test, it has been reported that the MDD-2 can easily and quickly determine if macular disease is present. Research has shown that earlier detection and then treatment of macular disease results in a better outcome. Some patients may not realize that their vision is deteriorating and blame symptoms as “just part of getting old”.
