An example of a rounded cystic tumor is shown in the above images. The patient was a 7-year old black male, with best-corrected visual acuity of 7/140 In the left eye. The left eye was also mlcrophthalmic (3-mm shorter than the right eye); mlcrocornea and an optic pit were also evident. Pupillary testing revealed a left Marcus Gunn pupil. The ultrasonogram revealed a rounded cystic tumor (the posterior was visible), which Is typically benign.5 Despite the presence of the tumor, there was no proptosis and choroldal folds were not evident.
