Left Eye

Cirrus High Definition OCT 2 Dimensional Movie

Note: If the excavation/elevation is greater then 2 mm, than the full extent of the depth cannot be demonstrated in a single section. Section 1 begins in the middle of the optic nerve head of the left eye, demonstrating an extremely excavated disc, where much of the excavation is outside the viewing area. As the sections approach the inferior disc border, the excavation decreases and below the disc an elevation is depicted. This bullous elevation represents a retinoschisis. When the retinoschisis reaches the top of the 2 mm maximum depth of the imaging area, the schisis tissue appears to be reflected back within the viewing area. However, this is an artifact and is common in OCT scans that reach the maximum height. The schisis or internal split of the retina is revealed in sections 120-200. especially in the right side of the image.
