Comments and Conclusions

• As in glaucoma, structure-function relationships are important in retinal disorders and help confirm abnormalitIes and specific diagnoses.
• Some patients present with both a retinal disorder and an optic nerve disorder and both can result in field loss, sometimes even similar visual field defects. Such presentations require additional effort and thought (Case 1)
• Functional visual field loss may correlate better with AF images than with standard color images.
• Fields are sometimes more diagnostic than structural retinal tests. (Case 4)
• Patients generally improve as visual fields takers over time and this allows for detailed serial analysis (Case 2)
