Case 2: Optovue iWellness Exam

Our young patient demonstrates a profound loss of the Ganglion Cell Complex (GCC). The mean thickness of normals is 95 microns with a Standard Deviation (SD) of 7.5 microns. Here the Total Thickness is about 65 microns or 4 SDs away from the mean value. In spite of the profound loss of the GCC, his VA is essentially normal suggesting that at least some of the foveal ganglion cells are still intact in each eye.
