About CORDA

• CORDA (COlor Reflectivity Discretization Analysis) software was designed for the analysis of OCT images. The main goal of this software is to differentiate the cellular components contained within the Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer (RNFL), parsing out ganglion cell axons from glial cells, blood vessels, and other cellular structures found within the innermost retinal sublayer.

• The software performs a discretization analysis on existing OCT images, enhancing the data revealed in OCT imaging, even retrospectively.

• Discretization refers to the parsing out of image data on the basis of pixel intensity, dividing the reflectivity values into four predefined ranges (HRI, HR2, LRI and LR2), and quantifying the number of pixels (or dots) in each range.

• Axons, which have relatively high reflectivity, fall within the HR2 range of reflectivity. The number of HR2 pixels has been demonstrated to correlate with RNFL thickness.

• CORDA performs total and sectorial discretization. The total analysis quantifies the dots falling Into each of the four ranges, and displays the image of the total RN FL.

• An index of relationship between high and low reflectivity dot distribution is also performed.
