Case 2: RAPDx Re

A typical RAPD difference that is often referenced for normal patients is 0.0 to 0.3 log units (the difference between the RE and LE amplitude or latency responses). Our patient has a significantly reduced pupillary response when the RE was stimulated. Note the very large abnormal defect of the RE showed a score of 1.56 and a less significant latency defect of the RE at 0.43. These objective, quantitative abnormalities are reproducible. Of particular note was that several clinicians failed to observe any RAPD with the standard swinging flashlight test.
