Note: the patient reported a “poor diet” in general and a previous period lasting about 2 years of virtually no food intake while she was physically and emotionally ill stemming from drug addiction. She has agreed to improve her nutrition, stop smoking, take a pill twice a day intended for patients with intermediate AMD and return in 3 months for monitoring for change. Note that the exact same points can be evaluated since the maia™ has registration capability and point to point correlation. Genetic testing for several of the identified genes associated with dominant drusen and genetic testing for AMD genes (Arctic Dx Macula Risk – RR 27 page 44) has been recommended.
