Macula Risk predictions are expressed as a risk score that is compared with the risk for the average person. There are many genetic and other factors that contribute to the prediction of AMD progression. Five risk levels (ranges) are defined using Macula Risk testing. Risk levels 3, 4 and 5 represent 20% of people. They have a higher than average risk for vision loss from AMD. Our patient was classified in MR 3.
