The MAIA’s infrared imaging provides a detailed visualization of the retinal morphology. The Expert Test shows that even in the early stages of AMD retinal function has been compromised. The Average threshold for this patient was 25.1 dB, which compared to the reference database of norrnal individuals, occurs in less than 5% of the cases. Although macular change is present, anatomical changes have not resulted in a loss of fixation, which is still stable (P1-97%; P2-100%). Finally, the Percent Reduced Thresholds index (48.6) shows results equal to or less than this eye were found in only 5% of the reference normals.
