Topcon 3-D OCT

  • The PIL was present in the central 1-2 mm under the fovea but was absent everywhere outside the fovea.
  • The presence of the PIL under the fovea predicted the patient’s normal visual acuity.

Electroretinography (Flash ERGS)

  • Patient’s results were extinguished under all conditions.

Diagnosis

  • Retinitis Pigmentosa
  • Myopia

Disposition

  • There is currently no treatment available for retinitis pigmentosa. (See Page 44)
  • Careful follow-up every six months.
  • Recommend genetic testing to identify the specific gene. (See Page 43)
